What happens in the appointment

Your body changes shape by the week in pregnancy, and the joints of the pelvis loosen to make room. For many women that means lower back pain, a pelvis that aches when you turn over in bed, or a sharp catch at the front when you climb stairs.

Ilse treats pregnant patients with a cushioned pregnancy table and side-lying techniques, so you never lie on your front or your bump. Treatment is gentle — mobilisation, soft-tissue work and low-force adjustment of the pelvis and lower back — and every visit ends with one or two positions or movements that make the next week easier.

If this is your first pregnancy visit with us, book a first visit first so we can take a full history. Tell your midwife you are seeing us; we are happy to write to them.

Good for

Conditions we often treat this way

Pregnancy back pain
“Pelvic pain from week 24 made walking the dog miserable. Monthly visits until the birth kept it manageable, and nobody treated me like I was fragile.”
