What happens in the appointment

A follow-up is thirty minutes and most of it is hands-on. Before we treat, we re-test the two or three things that were off at your first visit — how far your neck turns, whether the straight-leg test still pulls, where your shoulder catches — so both of us can see whether the plan is working.

Treatment is chosen for the day. That might be a chiropractic adjustment to a stiff joint, gentler mobilisation when things are irritable, or soft-tissue work on the muscles that keep pulling a joint off line. We explain what we are doing as we do it, and there is always a gentler option.

The last few minutes are for your exercises. If they are easy, they get harder. If they hurt, they change. Then we set the next appointment from what we found: close together early on, further apart as you improve, and none at all once you can manage on your own.

Good for

  • Patients part-way through a plan
  • A flare-up of a problem we already know
  • Returning patients seen within the last 12 months

Conditions we often treat this way

Neck pain
“Three years of a stiff neck by four o’clock every day. Five visits and two exercises later I get through a full week at the desk without thinking about it.”
